it was amazing

Sharif Pasha has just died. A century ago. I met him a week ago and awfully grieved over his already-known death just like his family and close friends did. Anna's screams pierced into my heart and for the last moment I clutched to that faint hope that he might live a bit longer.

British Empire, Egypt, Ireland, Ottoman caliphate, Palestine, Israeli Empire, Colonialism, Art, Education, Post-colonialism, Reformation, Revolution, Language, Past, Culture, Present, and the three tapestries are all beautifully weaved into this rich masterpiece by stitches of great love.

I am not the same Hanan I was a week ago before I read this passionate account of love and history.

Absolute 5 stars.
