ORDER IN COUNCIL UNDER SECTION 29 OF THE TERRITORIAL AND RESERVE FORCES ACT, 1907 (7 Edw. 7, C. 9), TRANSFERRING UNITS OF VOLUNTEERS TO THE TERRITORIAL FORCE. 1908. No. 325. At the Court at St. James's, the 9th day of April, 1908. Whereas His Majesty was pleased, by His Commission dated the seventeenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eight, to nominate and appoint The Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain, The Prime Minister, and The Lord President of the Council, or any two of them, in His Majesty's absence from His Realm in Foreign Parts, and in the absence of the Prince of Wales, to hold on His Majesty's behalf, His Privy Council, and to signify thereat His approval of any matter or thing whereunto they should be so authorized by writing under His Majesty's Sign Manual, and to do further on His Majesty's behalf any matter or thing for the purposes of the said Commission whereunto they should be authorized in manner aforesaid: * And whereas by an Order in Council, dated the 19th day of March, 1908, His Majesty has provided for the transfer, on and from the 1st April, 1908, to the Territorial Force of certain units of Yeomanry and Volunteers, and for the election by the officers and men of such units whether they will become subject to certain provisions of the Territorial and Reserve Forces Act, 1907, referred to in the Order, and for the acceptance under certain conditions, as members of the Territorial Force, of officers and men so electing, and for the disposal of other officers and men of such units; and has, in connection with such transfer, made certain provisions with reference to the property belonging to or held for the benefit of such units: And whereas it is expedient to transfer to the Territorial Force the Volunteer units detailed in the first column of the Schedule appended hereto, and to make similar provisions in relation to the officers and men of these units and the property belonging to them or held for their benefit: * Printed at p. 963 above. Now, therefore, The Lord Chancellor and The Lord President, being authorized thereto by writing under His Majesty's Sign Manual, by and with the advice of His Majesty's Privy Council, do, on behalf of His Majesty, order, as it is hereby ordered, as follows: The units of Volunteers detailed in the first column of the Schedule appended hereto shall, as from the 1st April, 1908, be transferred to the Territorial Force, and shall thereafter be units of the Territorial Force, and shall be respectively known by the titles specified in the second column of the said Schedule, and the said Order in Council of 19th March, 1908, shall accordingly have effect as if the Schedule to this Order formed part of the Schedule to that Order.
