NOVELS & NOVELISTS

ONE hears from time

to time indignant declamations against the daily outpouring of bad or uninteresting fiction; no doubt there is much of it, and it gets the readers it deserves. But far less is said of the astonishing number of good novels that are produced, well written, thoughtful, lively, amusing, and honest, which serve not only to entertain, but in a measure to form the current opinion of the day. Much of the best of contemporary thought and taste is put into fiction.

The best novels of the day can be obtained on demand from

BURBERRY

The more efficient a property becomes, the greater the skill needed and cost entailed in its production. This applies to every good thing the world has to offer. The world can produce a Paderewski, a Rolls Royce or a Burberry only by infinite care-and not cheaply; that is impossible. Consequently each in its sphere commands a world value.

For its purpose, that of a weatherproof, healthful to wear and a comfort and protector to its wearer at all times-fine or wet-The Burberry is incomparable.

There are other pianists than M. Paderewski, other cars than Rolls Royce, and there are other Weatherproofs than The Burberry; but, with a knowledge of his subject, would any one, if it came to choosing, forego one of these for any substitute?

Every Burberry Garment is labelled Burberrys.'
