689. Job. v;22, 23. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

That all men fhould honour the Son, even as they honour the Father: He that honoureth not the Son, honoureth not the Father which bath fent him.

Καθώς τιμῶσι τ πατέρα. The Meaning is not, that the Sons Authority fhould, like That of the Father, be looked upon as Underived, Abfolute, Supreme, and Independent; but that, as the Jews already believed in God, fo they fhould alfo for the future believe in Christ, chap. xiv, 1; As they already bonoured God the Father, fo they fhould alfo for the future honour the Son of God; honour him, as having All judgment committed unto him; honour him, to the Honour of the Father which fent him; acknowledge him to be Lord, to the Glory of God the Father.

690. Acts i, 24. Thou Lord, which knowest the Hearts of all men, fhew whether of these Two thou hast chofen.

It is ambiguous, whether thefe Words are dire&ted to Chrift, or to God the Father: Though, becaufe of Chrifts chufing the reft of the Apoftles, it seems rather more natural to fuppofe the Words directed to Him.
