Where There's Smoke, There's Salmon: The Book of Jewish Proverbs

Portada
Kensington Publishing Corporation, 2001 - 160 pàgines
Whatever the situation, whatever the crisis, whatever the sorrow or joy, Jews have a few brilliant words for it. For more than three thousand years they have been there, done that, and always come up with a pithy saying to sum up the experience.

Health, marriage, sex, food, law, raising children, poverty, success, optimism, cynicism, winning, and losing -- they're all part of the Jewish experience, and there are proverbs for every one of them. Author Michael Levin turns to the Bible, the Torah, the Talmud, and dozens of current sources, to offer readers hundreds of examples.

Where There's Smoke, There's Salmon is aimed at all readers, Jewish or not, who seek entertainment, knowledge -- and some great one-liners.
