155. Those which take Personal Terminations and are modified by Gender and Number are called Inflected Verbal Forms (ISASKY3).

Note. These are always used as Finite Verbs.

156. All other Verbal Forms, which mostly admit of Impersonal Terminations, are called Uninflected (ಅವ್ಯಯರೂಪಗಳು).

These are:-1. The Infinitives (s), 2. the Conjunctive Farticiples (3).3. the Relative Participles (ಕೃದಾಚೆಗಳು or ಕಾಚಕಗಳ ), 4.the Participial Nouns (ನಾಮಗಳು or ಕೃಾಮಗಳು ) and 5. the Verbal Nouns (izgɔ).

157. With regard to the Conjugational and other Verbal terminations, the verbs are of two kinds: Regular (5) and Irregular (23).

(g) Verbal Terminations:

158. The different Terminations affixed at the end of Inflected as well as uninflected Forms of a Regular Verb may be thus arranged:

Note 1. There are no particular Inflections to signify the (compound) Tenses. A Verb is conjugated in the Perfect or Imperfect Tenses by the addition of the Inflected form of the Irregular Verba (to be) in the same Simple Tense to its Prsent or Past conjunctive Participles; as, The Principal Verb (to go ):Imperfect Tenses:

Present: ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ+ ಇರುತ್ತೇನೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತೇನೆ;
Past:- ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ + ಇದ್ದೆನು = ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು,

Future: ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವೆನು = ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವೆನು

Perfect Tenses:

Present :ಹೋಗಿ + ಇರುತ್ತೆನೆ = ಹೋಗಿರುತ್ತೇನೆ;

Past:- ಹೋಗಿ + ಇದ್ದೆನು = ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೆನು,

Future: ಹೋಗಿ + ಇರುವೆನು = ಹೋಗಿರುವೆನು,

(h) Euphony in Verbal Forms.

159. The Kuphonic Rules ( ಸಂಧಿಯ ಮಗಳು ) are compulsarily applicable while affixing terminations at the end of Roots,

160. ev is inserted before the terminations of the present Tense; as,

ಮಾಡು + ಏನೆ = ಮಾಡುಉತ+ ಏನೆ = ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ: ನೋಡು + ಈ = ನೋಡು + ಉತ್ತಈ = ನೋಡು; ಓದು + ಆನೆ = ಓದು + ಉತ್ತ + ಆನೆ = ಓದುತ್ತಾನೆ.

161. The insertion of is required between the Verbal Root and the Termination of the Past Tense; as, ಮಾಡು + ಎನು = ಮಾಡು+ಇದ + ಎನು = ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ನೋಡು + ಇನೋಡು + ಇದ+ಇ+ನೋಡಿದಿ; ಓದು + ಅ ನು = ಓದು ಇದ+ ಅನು = ಓದಿದನು. +

Note. As in the Present Tense, these 'Past' Terminations are not directly affixed to the Root but to the Past Relative Participle (AIT). Fಾಚ); as, ಮಾಡಿದ + ಎನು = ಮೂಡಿದೆನು ನೋಡಿದ+ಇ=ನೋಡಿದಿ; ಓದಿದ+ ಅನು=ಓದಿದನು.

162. The Terminations of the Future Tense require the insertion of before them; as, ಮಾಡು + ಎನು-ಮಾಡು+ಉವ+ಎನು-ಮಾಡುವೆನು ನೋಡು + ಇ = ನೋಡು + ಉವ+ಇ=ನೋಡುವಿ ಓದು + ಅನು- ಓದ 4 ಉವ + ಅನು ಓದುವವನು,

163. In Canarese, there are two Conjugations of Regular Verbs. They are distinguished by the final Vowel in the Root: (1) the Conjugation of Roots ending in eo and (2) the Conjugation of those

*Instead of the Auxiliary Verbal forms as, ಇದ್ದೀ etc, used in Imperfect Tenses, ಇರುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಇರುತ್ತೀ etc. are sometimes substituted for them; so the Present Imperfect may be thus:
