PRECIOUS JESUS, HE IS MINE.

I wish that you, my little friend, could write such a letter as this, and then you could sing to the tune "Jesus loves me," these simple lines which I have supposed this little child of seven summers to utter.

Precious Jesus, He is mine;

Since I heard His loving call,
I've been singing all the time;
One little hymn is best of all.

Yes, I love to sing "Just now;"
Jesus is in every line.

Since I saw His thorn-clad brow,
I've been happy all the time.

Oh, that all my little friends

Would to Jesus come "just now;"
He would wash away their sins,
Lighting up with joy each brow.

Here are two letters from two little girls in Perth, in Scotland, who were in darkness on account of their sins; but they now seem to have been brought out into the marvellous light and liberty of the gospel.

"DEAR SIR,-I came to your meeting on Monday; for I was not at home on sabbath. I cried very much when I knew that I had been such a sinner not to love such a Saviour; but now I am very happy, and when I found myself in any trouble I just go to Him; for He is the best friend And I am very glad to say that I can say, I love Jesus from the heart without telling a lie.

"I am, your little friend,

After a few days she adds

"CHRISTINA."

"I wrote to you before; but I am far happier now than what I was then; for when we came out of the church we went down to an old quarry, four of us, and prayed time-about: we sung a hymn, and did not know what to do for joy. Next day at the school we got into a quarrel, but we forgave one another and were all friends again. We proposed to have a meeting. Please pray for us all. My age is eleven.

PRAYER-MEETING IN A QUARRY.

Christina's little friend, who seems to have been at that same prayer-meeting in the quarry, has also written me a letter. It has some mistakes in it, but I think you can read it. I hope the printer will not try to improve it.

"DEAR MR. HAMMOND,-I wrote to you before but I did not know whether I had found the saviour or not but I can say to night without telling a lie I have found Jesus. As I was going to the meeting last night I saw some ragged boys I went and asked them to come to the meeting one said no another little fellow shook his head and would not come as I and three others were coming home we began to talk of prayer one said he was not afraid to pray anywhere so I said to come away just now we did not know where to go but at last we went down the Dundee road there was a great many people on the road so we went up to an old quarey and the oldest went down on her knees and prayed and then I prayed and the other two did it after we then sang Jesus from his throne on high &c. we did not know what to do with joy

"We thought of having a little meeting ourselves and get some of our little friends to it pray for us all some mocked us but we never heeded.

"I remain,

"Your faithful friend,

"Perth, June 18th, 1868."

Now, my dear child, Christ has died on the cross for sinners. You are a sinner. Come to Him and thank Him that He has "LOVED US, AND GIVEN HIMSELF FOR US," and He will save you.

May the Lord, by His Holy Spirit, help you to offer this

HAT do you think it was that made this

Read her letter, and you will see, my
young friend. But first let me say a

word to you.

Suppose you had one of the best mothers in the world; that she had done everything for you, had watched over you tenderly when a little helpless infant, and often, in sickness, had spent sleepless nights anxiously by your bedside; yes, suppose that when a great rock was falling down a moun
