sent him with the schoolmaster to see his mother, they had only half an hour to spare; but when they returned, the master told me that the child spent the whole time in talking to his mother about Jesus. "Oh, mother," he said, "if you don't believe in Jesus you'll never be saved ;" and then he repeated text after text to her. The master said it was a lesson to himself to lose no opportunity of speaking for Christ. I never look at Georgie, without thanking God that there is such a place as the Birds' Nest, where little wild children may be trained for Him.

CHILDREN'S PART OF "BIRDS' NEST REPORT." (Concluded.)

A GOOD many kind friends have, like Georgie, adopted children for their own. A few months ago I got a letter from a lady in England. She told me how that Jesus had just taken home to Himself her dear little girl named "Lily;" how that Lily used to delight in listening to the stories from "Holly and Ivy," and the little books, and now as she was gone, she sent a gift of 10s. in memory of her. I wrote back to say we had a little Lily in the Birds' Nest, and, perhaps, she would like to take a special interest in her, and pray for her, and with God's blessing collect sufficient for Lily's support. I did not hear again for some time; but when I did, it was that it should be so; and when I told my orphan Lily

how she had got such a kind friend, her eyes filled with tears, and she said she hoped she would meet her friend's Lily in heaven one day.

There is in the Nest a little girl named Kate, whose father died some time ago. She was then admitted to the Nest, and her mother and little brother went to the poorhouse. The mother was in very delicate health, and she was very anxious that little Johnny should be taken out before her death, because she knew that after that he would be brought up a Roman Catholic, as his father was one. Kate was very anxious about him, too. I told the case to a young friend, and asked her if she could not get friends to join her, and collect sufficient to adopt Johnny. She said she would, and the little fellow is now in lodgings, waiting till he is old enough for the Nest. He is a sweet little fellow, but

when he was taken to see Kate he had quite forgotten her; she felt it very much, but he will soon learn to love her. Kate is adopted by a young friend in Ireland.

Another little boy, Eddy, is adopted by a young friend, who has every month sent 10s. for his support. She thought at first that she could only provide for six months, but at the end of the six months she held a bazaar, and realized 37., which completed the year.

Some children are adopted by Associations. The Howth friends adopted Mary Grogan in this way; but when they had succeeded in getting enough for her, they thought they would try a second, and this year they have increased so much, that they are to have three children.

Many of our little children have strong faith in the power and reality
