Son, who hath purchased us to himself for a peculiar people, and having baptized us with water for the remission of our sins and sanctified us with the Holy Ghost, gave himself a ransom to redeem us from death, and descending through the cross into hell that he might fulfil all things in himself, loosed the pains of death, and rising again the third day led the way to a resurrection of all flesh from the dead, forasmuch as it was impossible for the author of life to be held of corruption; who became the first fruits of them that slept, and the first begotten from the dead, that he might be the first of all in all things, who ascending up into heaven, sat down at the right hand of thy Majesty on high, who shall likewise come again to render to every man according to his works. To whom with thee and the Holy Ghost be all Honour and Glory for ever and ever. Amen.

O thou who didst this day create the light and enlighten the world;

Glory be to Thee, O Lord.

O thou who didst this day bring again from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ;

Glory be to Thee, O Lord.

O thou who didst this day send down thy Holy Spirit ;

Glory be to Thee, O Lord.

Then all standing up.

This is the day which the Lord hath made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be; world without end. Amen.

need our prayers, for our enemies, for those in error, and for all sorts and conditions of men.

Our help is in the Name of the Lord:

Who hath made heaven and earth.
Blessed be the name of the Lord:
Henceforth, world without end.
Lord, hear our prayer:
And let our cry come unto thee.

¶Then the Collects following.

ALMIGHTY Father, who hast given thine only

Son to die for our sins, and to rise again for our justification; Grant us so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness, that we may alway serve thee in pureness of living and truth; through the merits of the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For Unity.

O GOD, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Saviour, the Prince of Peace; Give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly Union and Concord: that, as there is but one Body, and one Spirit, and one Hope of our Calling, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may henceforth be all of one heart, and of one soul, united in one holy bond of Truth and Peace, of Faith and Charity, and may with one mind and one mouth glorify thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the grace of Charity.

LORD, who hast taught us that all our doings without charity are nothing worth; Send thy Holy Ghost, and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of charity, the very bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whosoever liveth is counted dead before thee: Grant this for thine only Son Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

For the Queen, the Clergy, and all People.

ALMIGHTY Lord God, who hast created all things by Christ, and by him dispensest thy fatherly care and providence over them, look down upon thy holy Church, and increase the same. We call upon thee, O Lord, for the Queen and all that are in authority, that leading our whole life in peace and quietness, we may glorify thee through Jesus Christ our hope. Multiply we beseech thee those that preside in all parts of thy Church, and especially remembering - Bishop of this Diocese, grant them strength, that they may labour both in word and work for the edification of thy people. We pray thee for thy servants, the Pastors of this place, and for all the Clergy. Endue them with wisdom, and fill them with the Holy Ghost; and grant that, with instructive discourse, they may teach thy people with meekness, may sincerely serve Thee with a pure mind and willing soul, and may unblameably perform their sacred ministrations among thy people. We pray for all; for our absent friends, and kindred, for the poor, for the sick, and for those that are in slavery; for every Christian soul under affliction and calamity,
