WHEN a religious service at High Garrett was first determined on, in 1853, I made a selection of Hymns and had them printed for our village congregation. This selection has now been in use for upwards of seven years, and a second edition has become necessary. The first edition was printed solely for the High Garrett congregation, was limited in number, and not purchasable. Since the above date, à similar congregation has been formed at Halstead, where it has been the subject of much regret that the High Garrett Hymn-book could not be procured. It has therefore been thought desirable that, in bringing out a second edition, the book should be both published and sold in the usual way. In this new edition all the old hymns have been retained, but it has been enlarged by |
