Hereditary Genius: an Inquiry Into Its Laws and Consequences, Volum 27;Volum 100Francis Galton, a cousin of Charles Darwin, had a curiosity about everything and attempted to quantify and measure wherever he went. After reading Darwin's "Origin of the Species" in 1865, the study of heredity became his overriding interest. He strongly believed that the laws of heredity should take mathematical form, so began a quantitative study of hereditary talent. This study convinced him that man's talent and character are inherited and that by proper planning man can direct his own evolution. |
