THE CHURCHMAN; a Monthly Magazine

in defence of the venerable Church and Constitution of England.

The CHURCHMAN, with one exception, now stands at the head of the Magazines of the Established Church, in point of numbers, having, during the last three years, enjoyed a circulation varying from 4,000 to 6,000 copies per month.

This great success has induced the conductors of the CHURCHMAN, in compliance with the wishes of many Subscribers, as well as from a belief that there is yet room for another Magazine, at the price of 6d. to publish an ENLARGED SERIES of the CHURCHMAN (the First Number of which will be ready on the 1st of January, 1838,) to circulate as extensively among the members of the Established Church as the "Methodist Magazine" with the Wesleyan Body, and the "Evangelical Magazine" amongst the Congregationalists and other Dissenters.

To Advertisers, "The Churchman" offers a channel of publicity surpassed by few of the Monthly Periodicals, especially amongst that class to whom "The Churchman" is more particularly addressed. Advertisements will be received till the 26th of the month.

A highly-finished and very superior PORTRAIT of HIS GRACE the ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY, will be given in "The Churchman" for February. (1763)

Printed and Published by Painter, 342, Strand; sold by Sherwood and Co. Paternoster Row, and all other Booksellers.

TO BOOKSELLERS, STATIONERS, AND PRINTERS.

RESPECTABLE YOUNG MAN, under 30 Years of Age, now conducting a business in a manufacturing town, is desirous to treat for a share of a business where active exertion combined with experience, both in Town and Country, unimpeachable integrity, and a small property, will be a sufficient compensation.

The advertiser is a Member of an Independent Church, and would be happy to treat with any party who may wish to decline the arduous engagements of business, and retire in confident security in a conscientious, judicious, and persevering companion in trade.

Unexceptionable references in Town and Country will be given; and as it is the desire to be most candid and honourable, no objection would be made to engage for one year (with adequate remuneration) as an Assistant.
