All grammarians concur in saying that a finite verb agrees with its subject in number and person; yet, in parsing, many of them, although they ascribe person to the verb, entirely ignore that of the subject, if the latter be a noun. This is inconsistent; hence it has been deemed better, in this work, to give in every case the person of the noun. The omission or inser tion of the person is otherwise, however, a matter of little consequence, and may be left to the option of the student. CHAPTER III.
