Annotations on Milton's Paradise Lost, 1695

1695. In these annotations the texts of sacred writ relating to the poem are quoted; the parallel places and imitations of the most excellent Homer and Virgil are cited and compared; all the obscure parts are rendered into phrases more familiar; the old and obsolete words with their originals are explained and made easy to the English reader. Due to the age and scarcity of the original we reproduced, some pages may be spotty, faded or difficult to read. Written in Old English.
