13 And he was there in the wildernefs forty days tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beafts; and the angels miniftered unto him.

14 ¶ Now after that John was put in prison, Jefus came into Galilee preaching the gofpel of the kingdom of God.

15 And faying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gofpel.

16 Now as he walked by the fea of Galilee, he faw Simon, and Andrew his brother, cafting a net into the fea for they were fishers.

17 And Jefus faid unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to be come fishers of men.

18 And ftraightway they forfook their nets, and followed him.

19 And when he had gone a little farther thence, he faw James the fan of Zebedee,

and John his brother, who alfo were in the fhip mending their nets.

20 And ftraightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the fhip with the hired fervants, and went after him.

21 And they went into Capernaum and straightway on the fabbath day he entered into the fynagogue, and taught.

22 And they were asto nifhed at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the fcribes.

23 And there was in their fynagogue a man with an unclean fpirit; and he cried out,

24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jefus of Nazareth? art thou come to deftroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

25 And Jefus rebuked him, faying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26 And when the unclean fpirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

27 And they were all amazed, infomuch that they questioned among themfelves, faying, What thing is

28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

29 And forthwith when they were come out of the fynagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 But Simon's wife's mother lay fick of a fever; and anon they tell him of her.

31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up and immediately the fever left her, and fhe miniftered unto them.

36 And Simon, and they that were with him, followed after him.

37 And when they had found him, they faid unto him, All men feek for thee.

38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there alfo: for therefore came I forth.

39 And he preached in their fynagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils.

40 And there came a leper to him, befeeching him, and kneeling down to him, and faying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

41 And Jefus, moved with compaffion, put forth his

42 And as foon as he had fpoken, immediately the leprofy departed from him, and he was cleanfed.

43 And he straitly charg him, and forthwith fent him away;

34 And he healed many that were fick of divers difeafes, and caft out many de-ed vils; and fuffered not the devils to fpeak, because they knew him.

CHAP. XIII.

7 And when ye fhall hear of wars, and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for fuch things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

8 For nation fhall rife against nation, and kingdom againft kingdom: and there fhall be earthquakes in divers places, and there fhall be famines, and troubles: thefe are the beginnings of for

4 Tell us, when fhall these things be? and what shall be the fign when all these things fhall be fulfilled?

5 And Jefus answering them began to fay, Take heed left any man deceive you:

14 ¶ But when ye fhall fee the abomination of defolation, fpoken of by Daniel the prophet, ftanding where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judea flee to the

mountains :

15 And let him that is on the houfetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give fuck in those days! 18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.

19 For in thofe days fhall be affliction, fuch as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither fhall be.

20 And except that the Lord had fhortened thofe days, no flesh fhould be faved: but for the elect's fake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

26 And then shall they fee the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

27 And then shall he fend his angels, and fhall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermoft part of heaven.

28 Now learn a parable of the fig-tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that fummer is near:
