By his Excellency Baron Sparre (who ferved under Charles XII. in all his campaigns, and was taken prifoner with him at the battle of Pultowa) her Lady, fhip has left iffue one daughter, the Hon. Amelia Melefine Sparre.

17, Right Hon. Francis, Earl of Godolphin, Viscount Rialton, Baron of Helmftone, Governor of the Scilly iflands, and one of the privy council, aged 87. The title of Earl is extinct, but the Barony of Helmftone defcends to Francis Godolphin, Efq; member for that borough. His Lordship was father to the Duchefs of Newcastle, and late Duchefs of Leeds. He was born Sept. 3, 1678, being the only furviving fon of Sidney, the first Earl of Godolphin, by Margaret, daughter and coheirefs to Thomas Blague, of Horringer in Suffolk, Efq; groom of the bedchamber to King Charles I. and II. then maid of honour to Queen Catherine.

King Stanislaus of Poland, Duke of Lorrain and Bar. He was, if not the greatest or most fortunate, one of the wifeft and beft princes of the age he lived in. Banished from his native country, and brought to rule over ftrangers, the natural goodness of his heart more than fupplied the place of national affection. He was to his new fubjects a real father; his whole attention was directed to their happiness and profperity; and by his death, they experienced the moft irreparable lofs. His hiftory is well known; his death was unfortunately accelerated by the hurts he received, in confequence of his cloaths having accidentally taken fire, which we have already taken notice of. He was born the zoth of October, 1677; was elected King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania, for the first time, the 12th of July 1704; and for the fecond time, the 12th of September, 1733. A large variety of religious books were distributed among fuch of the poor inhabitants as could read, by her fpecial direction.
