The table of general quantities of material, with their value, as proposed by the parties bidding, was calculated separately by two capable and reliable persons. The table referring to the number of pieces and quality of cutting proposed for shafts of columns was calculated by R. Snowden Andrews, second assistant superintendent Treasury extension.

The undersigned, Courtlandt Palmer and O. D. F. Grant, of the city, county, and State of New York, as guarantors, hereby undertake that the above-named Horace Beals and C. P. Dixon will, if their proposal be accepted, enter into a contract and bond as required, with proper and sufficient securities, in the sum of fifty thousand dollars.
