ELIZABETH FOREMAN.

Mr. HENDRICKS, from the Committee on Invalid Pensions, made the

following

REPORT.

The Committee on Invalid Pensions, to whom was referred the application of Elizabeth Foreman, of the State of Maryland, have had the same under consideration, and report:

That said petitioner is the widow of Elijah Foreman, deceased; that said Elijah Foreman was a member of the troop of Maryland chasseurs, and was in the battle of North Point, fought on the 12th day of September, 1814, and in the retreat was thrown from his horse, and was greatly injured by the fall, and from the horses of the troop passing over him; that he remained constantly in a suffering condition until the 19th day of February, 1815, when he died of the injuries received as aforesaid. The committee, therefore, report a bill for the relief of the petitioner.

RAMSEY AND RICHARDSON.

Mr. HENDRICKS, from the Committee on Invalid Pensions, made the fol

lowing REPORT.

The Committee on Invalid Pensions, to whom was referred the memorial of the members of the Legislature of the State of Tennessee, on behalf of Thomas C. Ramsey and Ananias O. Richardson, have had the same under consideration, and report:

That the said Ramsey and Richardson served as privates in the Mexican war, and behaved most gallantly at the battle of Monterey, and in that battle they each lost their right arm, and that they are now receiving pensions at the rate of eight dollars per month. The committee find the services gallant, the loss great, and the disability complete and total, and that a pension of eight dollars per month is not sufficient for the support of the parties, and they therefore report a bill for their relief for the action of the House, but do not recommend its passage, as it would be a departure from the policy heretofore adopted by Congress.
