Jacques Bellange, C. 1575-1616: Printmaker of Lorraine

Portada
British Museum, 1997 - 144 pàgines
This work chronicles the life and work of Jacques Bellange, an inventive figure in the art of 17th century. Enormously successful in his own lifetime, Bellange was then forgotten and it is only in the 20th century that he has been rediscovered. His paintings have almost all been lost, and so the only surviving testimony to his talent are his drawings and his 48 prints.
