The role: Logistics Program Manager - EU Headquarters

The Operations Order Management Logistics team makes sure physical deliveries happen on schedule so Google's virtual world keeps humming. As a member of the team, you help manage the logistics and transportation of vendor deliveries. From global deployments of servers to the delivery of networking gear, you need to make sure the right equipment arrives at the right location at the right time. What you oversee is often overseas, and you work with international governmental organizations to ensure imported equipment arrives smoothly. You also work with internal customers to measure and define processes, constantly using data to improve our systems.

As a manager, you own and oversee functional areas of our operations such as transportation, customs or regional logistics.

As part of our team in supporting of all logistical requirements for the Engineering Operations group across Europe as well as expanding our global deployment supply chain. Vendor management, shipping and logistics, import and export compliance, and inventory management are only a small part of the responsibilities for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively with our 3PL partners across the EMEA region for consistent performance.
  • Lead 3PL partners to establish facts, solve complex problems, and establish corrective action plans.
  • Work on projects with internal cross-functional teams from finance, operations and foreign trade to provide increased capabilities or more effective use of assets.
  • Serve as an escalation point between Google and external partners to ensure prompt resolution issues.
  • Manage and monitor metrics for KPIs and vendor performance scorecards.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree (In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience managing complex projects).
  • Relevant logistics or supply chain experience in a global hi tech company.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and solution modeling skills
  • Ability to work across functional teams and regions to deliver solutions.
  • Exposure to trade compliance regulations in emerging markets.
